Friends with Benefits….sometimes it makes sense…. sometimes it makes me angry. Like you want me but not my “burdens”.
Allāh will not change the state of the people until they change what is in themselves. (The Holy Qur’an 8:53)
Kind words and forgiveness of faults are better than charity. (The Holy Qur’an 2:263)
I’ve been with men who never seemed to think I was good enough. I’ve also been with men who were smart enough to say, “You look beautiful tonight” often enough for it to bolster my self-esteem and help me show up for life in a more beautiful way. None of us are really objectively attractive or unattractive. There is no such thing. There are people who MANIFEST the potential for sparkle that we all share, and those who don’t. Those who do are usually people who some where along the line, either from parents or lovers, were told verbally or nonverbally, “You’re wonderful and beautiful.” Love is to people what water is to plants.

He said love is patient, then He said: I am love
He said love is not not easily angered, then He said: I am love
He said love keeps no record of wrongs, then He said: I am love
He said love always protects, then He said: I am love
He said love always overcomes, then He said: I am love
He said love never fails, then He said: I am love

I’ve decided not to actively look anymore. In this day and age certain events have transpired making me weary of others. The uncertainty of what’s really in someone’s heart and their true intentions is too much for me. It’s happened time and time again and I don’t know maybe right now isn’t meant for me to achieve those goals. I’ve learned so much already I just need to step back from those things and focus on what really matters: myself.
